Freedom: TO LIVE & TO GROW!
By Quentien and Tammy Brewington
RESOLUTION| I grew up in the Englewood neighborhood located on Chicago’s Southside. Englewood is one of the most dangerous areas in the city by almost every metric. The Social IMPACT Research Center located at the Heartland Alliance, an anti-poverty organization in Chicago, indicates its “deep poverty” populace is the highest percent of any given area, per the Census data. As a child growing up in Englewood, I have first-hand experience of what it was like to live in a blue-collar household hanging in the balance of the poverty line.
I have always been a natural ‘people’ persons and believe each and every individual deserves the opportunity of earned financial and spiritual success. It is funny how I never knew how strong my belief system was until I experienced incompetent micromanagers and some colleagues in general that diminish morale in the workplace. I am sure many people have experienced the devaluation of their work contributions, education, and experience, which often translates to a lack of promotional opportunities and recognition. I found this environment to be toxic, promoting the attrition of progressive members of the workforce while cultivating toxic employees. The whole ideology of nepotism and cronyism [not what you know, but whom you know] is the splinter to my sociopolitical concept of what it takes to climb that corporate ladder. Fortunately, with struggle comes progress. I always knew there was a better way to earn success, wealth, and happiness without compromising my integrity or sacrificing my health (mental and physical). This enlightenment would come in the Form of a Dallas Based utility company that adopted a network marketing business model.
REVOLUTION|Network Marketing was not a new concept for me. My “A-ha” moment came after my wife and I watched the Ambit Opportunity Video. After my review and research, I had determined Ambit business would become our exit strategy from the rat race. The Ambit Business model levels the playing field. There is no favor based on race, age, business certification, or education. Anyone who is willing to abide by the integrity, mission, and vision of Ambit in addition to their personal ambitions would achieve the success in which they are looking.
My wife and I believe “To Live Is To Grow,” so we expected some adversity, but we understand we all have to overcome difficulties and learn to control emotions in these situations to become stronger. We have lofty desires, which make us quite uncommon to most. That is fine, as we understand that “little extra” we invest in ourselves today, will have an extraordinary return on investment (ROI) that far exceeds conventional logic, tomorrow. “Besides, if there is no struggle, there is no progress” (Fredrick Douglas). My Ambit experience has developed my ability to “discipline my disappointment.”
EVOLUTION|Conclusively, we unanimously agreed our children are our greatest achievement. We believe having children and doing your best to raise them offers the great reflection of one’s self. It is a process of growth, improvement and gaining spiritual and emotional strength to become the most powerful, happy, and satisfied “us” as possible, for our children futures.” To be a little “tongue in cheek,” we had become fearless regarding the presentation of the Ambit Opportunity and challenged all comers to dare to be different and wealthy in the process.
Besides, why become time bankrupt working for someone else and not invest the time and working for yourself? We wanted this for our family, and I must say, I have developed a great sense of time management and patience, and most importantly compassion. These are all skills of the heart; we learned curiosity of our children, Zamora and QJ. That is the real goal and reward of financial freedom.
